Telethon in Brooklyn, New York tonight beginning at 8pm to raise money for Grenada.
The program will be broadcast live on Cable TV channels Time Warner (Channel 56) and CableVision (Channel 69).
Viewers can call in and make pledges to a special fund established by the Grenada Disaster Relief Committee. Information will be provided about the several places in the United States where supplies can be dropped off.  There will also be phone calls from people in Grenada giving viewers an update of the situation there

Ivan rips roofs off  
houses, hotels, and the Industry High School in Barbados and cause electricity outages. The hurricane also ripped roofs off Tobago which it passed on its way to Grenada.  Winds have increased from 105 mph to 135 mph. Airlines have cancelled flights to Barbados, Grenada and St. Lucia
